Founder | Video Producer, LaDonna Castro
I enjoy video production and editing because I love learning about places, people, and cultures through the eyes of the camera. As the Creator of LaDoMedia International, my goal is to assist people and organizations to create videos for various causes and events. When I was younger, I was always interested in the world so I opted a non-traditional education and chose to study abroad. After graduating high school in 1999, I lived in France as a Rotary Exchange student.
Thereafter, I returned to the States and enrolled in the “Global College Program” of Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. Subsequently I have studied in Kyoto, Japan; San Jose, Costa Rica; Bahia, Brazil; and finally completed my senior year in London, England. I’ve studied in Cairo, Egypt and Dakar, Senegal where I completed my senior thesis, a video documentary titled, “Aswan Temples and the Nubians of Upper Egypt.” As a result of my travels, I’m proficient in five languages with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree from Long Island University. I'm happily married with three beautiful kiddos. And that's the story of my life!

I met LaDonna Jones, now Castro, when she was a sophomore at Duncanville High School and she attended the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Communicators Urban Journalism Workshop. Over the years, I have grown very fond of this young lady and I am equally proud of her work. She has traveled extensively and speaks several languages fluently. LaDonna’s company produces documentaries, public service announcements, videos and more. You name it, and she can do it. In addition to being a consummate professional, LaDonna has such a pleasing and accommodating personality. She will give you advice to help make your product better, but she is going to respect your wishes and give you what you want. Equally important is her ability to adhere to deadlines! If you check out her website you will see some of her local, national and international projects. She has produced videos on Dick Gregory, veteran journalist Norma Adams Wade, Links Inc., Don’t Believe the Hype Foundation and her travels.

The Links, Incorporated- an international organization of 11,000 African American women - and HBO hosted a screening of the Alzheimer's Project, at the African American Museum. We engaged Ms. Castro to develop and implement the video plan for this event. She was given less than a week to formulate and implement the plan. On the evening of the event, Ms. Castro organized and conducted interviews with the program participants, and videotaped the event, without assistance. The end product was a professional DVD, which was shared with HBO, and 54 chapter presidents of The Links, Inc. Needless to say, this was no small fete. I have found Ms. Castro to be extremely knowledgeable, and professional. She is always quite pleasant, and very engaged in whatever projects she is assigned.
